Flag translations can arrive by private DM

Server managers can choose whether flag reaction translations appear in the channel or go only to the member who requested them.

• Private flag translations include a link to the original Discord message.
• If Discord blocks the DM, BabelBot does not post the translation publicly.

Translate Text replies show only the translation

Translate Text now shows the translation in its private reply without repeating the original message.

Server disable stops flag translations

Disabling BabelBot for a server now stops flag-reaction translations as well as automatic message translation.

Permission problems show up on Overview

When BabelBot cannot deliver translations because Discord permissions are missing, Overview lists the affected channel and the permissions to grant.

• Repeated failures for the same channel are grouped into one Overview warning.
• The warning clears after BabelBot successfully delivers a translation in that channel.

New translation threads do not stay in your channel list

After BabelBot translates your message or flag request in a new thread, it removes you from that thread.

Translation prompt tweaks

We adjusted BabelBot's translation prompt to use wording that native speakers are more likely to use in Discord chats.

• The prompt prefers common conversational phrases over literal dictionary wording.
• We added guidance for short reactions, slang, profanity, internet abbreviations, and politeness in the target language.

Custom emoji-only messages stay out of translation

BabelBot no longer posts translations for messages that contain only custom or animated Discord emoji.

Linked replies show the latest quote

Replies in linked channels now quote the message you answered instead of an older message in the chain.

One failed language does not block media translations

When BabelBot translates a media post into several languages in the same channel, it posts the translations that worked even if one language fails.

• If an attachment still fails for one language, BabelBot posts the translated message text with a Partial translation notice.

Custom words keep their chosen spelling

BabelBot keeps the spelling you chose for names, slang, and game terms in translated messages.

• Rules for one language do not affect the others when a message has several translations.
